Tulum pueblo mágico

Llegué a Tulum casi por milagro este año, luego de meses de espera y vuelos cancelados. Tal vez una definición de milagro sea intención, dirección y perseverancia, más un poco o mucha de ayuda del universo, claro. Y así también, milagrosamente, aun no me fui.
Tulum es hoy base de viajeros independientes, nómades digitales, habitantes locales con más o menos tiempo de historia en Quintana Roo, cocineros, yogis, tuluminatis, diseñadores, escritoras, experimentadores de estilos de vida alternativos, emprendedores, espirituales, ecologistas, creativos, veganas y vegetarianos.
Tulum es pueblo mágico y también turisteada, tiendas alternativas, la selva que desafía a las máquinas excavadoras cada mañana, ruido de motores de autos, pájaros que cantan al amanecer, calles de tierra y hoyos, el mar sin sargazo, colas de tráfico, la arena siempre suave, las fiestas y las túnicas, las tortugas que se abren camino entre los camastros y logran llegar al océano -la energía más potente de Tulum y tal vez del universo-. Idiomas español, inglés y maya. Ceremonias de cacao y temazcales, nuevos barrios privados, lunas llenas y atardeceres siempre rosas.
Y Tulum es el corazón de una gran movida vegana, que viene gestándose desde hace años y como todo aquí, se mueve de manera exponencial.
Este tiempo aquí, caminé y recorrí el pueblo en bicicleta . Conocí gente que vive como sueña y actúa como piensa; escuché historias de transformación, de viajes, proyectos, cambios de vida, mudanzas. Historias valientes, de llevar los sueños a la acción, cambiar el mundo una comida a la vez, un día cada vez, sabiendo que la vida es hoy y que siempre hay un mañana.

Tulum magical town
I arrived in Tulum almost by miracle this year, after months of waiting and many canceled flights. Perhaps a definition of miracle is intention, direction, and perseverance, plus a little or a lot of help from the universe, of course. And also, miraculously, I still haven’t left.
Tulum is today a base for independent travelers, digital nomads, local inhabitants with more or less time in Quintana Roo, cooks, yogis, tuluminatis, designers, writers, experimenters of alternative lifestyles, entrepreneurs, spirituals, environmentalists, creatives, vegans and vegetarians.
Tulum is a magical and also touristy town, with alternative shops, the jungle that defies bulldozers every morning, the noise of car engines, birds that sing at dawn, dirt streets and holes, the sea without seaweed, traffic queues, the sand always soft, parties and ponchos, turtles that manage to make their way between lounge chairs into the ocean- the most powerful energy in Tulum and perhaps in the universe. Languages; Spanish, English and Mayan. Cacao and temazcales ceremonies, new neighborhoods, full moons and always pink sunsets.
And Tulum is the heart of a wonderful vegan scene, which has been growing for years and like everything here, it moves exponentially.
This time here, I walked and cycled through town. I met people who live as they dream and act as they think; I heard stories of transformation, travels, projects, daring to change their lives, moving. Stories of courage, putting dreams into action, changing the world one meal at a time, one day at a time, knowing that life is meant to be lived today and there is always tomorrow.
